MIURA KAIGAN, JAPAN
info: this is Hideto Matsumotos gravesite in Miura Reien (garden of souls). it was one of my most favorite memories. i love hide with all my heart and it was a huge honor to be able to visit his grave. i went with my friend suki. and it was gloomy and raining. it really fit with our mood, because both of us were crying as we stood there, watching his grave, and thinking of him. (if you don’t know who hide is, hes famous guitarist of X JAPAN who committed suicide in 1998. also, i hate ruining the photo with my link, but i HATE people stealing my photos. i especially feel scared of people stealing the photos of hides grave)
adrame replied to your photo: Soba noodle as the last meal in Tokyo, for lunch…
Looks tasty, except for that raw egg… Do you eat it?Haha. I understand how you feel when you see a raw egg in your meal.
But I must say you are still a very beginner about Japanese food culture. We do eat raw eggs quite often. It’s so common in our everyday meal.
A raw egg in the noodle is called “tsukimi - 月見 - moon viewing”, so you can call it according to other ingredients as Tsukimi soba, Tsukimi tempura soba, Tsukimi wakame(seaweed) soba etc. etc. It’s a popular topping option anyway:)
McDonald Japan sells Tsukimi burger for about a month in every fall, when the season of moon viewing. Their “moon” is not raw though:)
